A solid sequel to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. The plot revolves around the human and sex trafficking industry in Sweden and the murder of three individuals with connections to one of the main characters, Lisbeth Salander. This book gives more background to Salander as well, bringing the story into an interesting direction. Pieces of her background slowly make its way to the center of the plot that gives a very satisfying twist towards the second half of the book. However this book does have some minor flaws. The main problem is that it didn’t pack a punch or rather leave a big impact like the previous book did. The first book really overshadowed this one, it had a better focus, pace, and overall better story. To it’s core I think the main problem with this book. On top of all of this, the book needed some editing. The author had a habit of repeating himself from time to time. It wasn’t bad enough to hate the book, yet it was definitely noteworthy to see this flaw while I was reading the book. Nevertheless this is a must read for fans of the series. This story is really going into a fascinating direction and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.
